The Leaders of our Curio Community
Guiding dancers with artistry, integrity, and heart.
Curio Dance is a family–owned and operated dance school rooted in passion, artistry, and community. Founded in 2016, our studio was built on a shared vision to create a welcoming space where dancers of all ages can learn, grow, and feel at home. Together, our family leads with heart, humility, and a deep belief that dance has the power to shape confident, compassionate, and creative humans.
Meet the four owners who bring Curio Dance to life each day:

Patricia will be the first to tell you of her lifelong love and appreciation of dance as a form of artistic expression. She danced while a college student, and as a parent recognized an even stronger love of and talent for dance in her children. It became her mission to connect them with every opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive as dancers.
A single parent, Patricia quickly learned the challenges of this mission — fortunately, she was not alone nor without help. Her mother, Viola, became an unwavering supporter for her grandchildren, demonstrating for Patricia the significance of helping those you love unlock the access to living their dreams. Patricia continues this exemplary practice in her work at Curio Dance, overseeing the development and management of the Curio Dance Sponsorship Fund. Thanks to her work, Curio can assure its students that cost does not have to be a barrier for anyone who wants to learn to dance.
It is also thanks to the dedication of Patricia that the UpDown Funk dance troupe continues to grow and thrive. Her tireless efforts in the behind-the-scenes work to give these talented dancers the spotlight they have earned is Curio Dance’s values in action.
Patricia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Minnesota. She received a Masters in Pastoral Studies (social justice) from the University of St.Thomas, and a PhD in Family Social Science (Gerontological Research) from the University of Minnesota.
