About Boom Dance Fest

BOOM Dance Fest, which will take place on August 1, 2026 at 6:30p, is a 60-minute dance performance highlighting professional dance troupes that share diverse dance forms and styles with the audience and passers-by in the community. This free, outdoor celebration of the performing arts offers a showcase of classical, modern, cultural, and urban dance forms.

The idea for BOOM was born when artistic directors and siblings Dario Mejia and Giselle Mejia realized that the only dance performances in this community were local dance studio recitals. BOOM Dance Fest expands the visibility of exceptional dancers to audiences outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, using a safe, outdoor environment to build an annual tradition of dance performance in the community.
